The Sky At Night TV show presenter and astronomer passed away today at age 89, due to an infection/illness.
Another sad thing is, only a few days ago I was watching the latest Sky At Night
show (and haven't watched it in months) so
now I feel sort of guilty that I watched his last show after so long and
and suddenly a few days later (today) the horrific news was brought to my attention.
Man...I remember as a kid waking up early (early for me anyway)
to watch the Sky At Night, it was about astronomy.
I remember that episode with the eclipse and how they added a filter to telescopes to be able to see the Sun without damaging our eyes.
It was a childhood inspiration like Dexter's Lab, Rough Science, Horizon and other science related shows.
I'm quite saddened by the news.
I hate all "bad" bacteria and viruses.
They're one of the main reasons why people die at an old age aside from cancer, organ deterioration, heart and brain disease, trauma, etc.

R.I.P. Patrick Moore. You'll be missed greatly.

He inspired many astronomers. Except me, I only heard of him a little. R.I.P. Patrick.

I'm just wondering how Stephen Hawking will show his emotions... I don't mean by a speech or something, I mean real emotions. Like the Universe, Hawking himself is filled with many mysteries.

Sigh....I just had to log off my hotmail email and land on MSN news...
Another sad thing is most of you may not have even heard of him since he's British
and the show he presents is British and ran in the morning (or early afternoon?) once every week on a Saturday or Sunday I think. The Sky At Night ran for over 55 years.
And he was in almost every one of the episodes. I remember the 50th year anniversary 5 years ago.

Like I said, I heard of him. Just not as much as other people. I think I watched his show once, but I can't remember when.

The only thing I've been focusing on was colouring the cover for issue 1 of Zombieweasel.

What would be annoying for him would be if there was supernova tomorrow, and he wouldn't be around to present it. Ya know, like one of Einstein's theories was confirmed to be true sometime last year, and he wasn't around to brag about how much he was right.

Sorry for your lose X, though I never saw his show, I felt the same way when my favorite science show host, Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, and when he passed, I missed him, and his nature show, so yeah, sorry dude!

Wait that picture makes me remember him a bit. I may have watched his show a couple times!

But it doesn't feel the same knowing you're watching someone who can't be around anymore to talk about it more.

Sorry man, i had some old shows that the endings made me frustrated.

Anyways, reading this topic it makes me sad about the early childhood shows i used to watch that ended.

The news doesn't come up right now but instead they decide to blow up my email...

I mean maybe once or 3 times is enough but come one. 5 messages each time i check my Yahoo and Aim.
