Though he was alone he had to fend for himself as a fusion spawn comes out of nowhere to attack him, using only brick, although Keitaro was seperated from his family, it wasn't during the fuse invasion, it was at birth, his memories were artifficial and the family members weren't anywhere near Keitaro, Only Saffron and their father were with him, he was a mad scientist's experiment, All 3 members of the Hiro family had been turned into super humans, Saffron who could manipulate Gravity and sand, and Keitaro who could make seals to nullify all powers and magic, and the ability to rapidly shift his body into a different pose creating the ultimate dodging ability. their Father never revealed his powers to them.

When the invasion came fusions had destroyed the lab, leaving Keitaro all alone in a city, there he finds other kids, seeing their sadness he went and decided to be the clown, Xlr8 a younger kid then Keitaro decided to group up and let us all go to his hideout, although he was young so the role of Leader of Critical X back then was Meucrone Walker, an adult with a cold stare, a robe like non other, and the power to slash anything in reality, no matter how tough it is.

Although each leader always has to change the name, so back then the group was known as, Xtreme Hunters. Xlr8 invented the name system for the group members, giving them all agent names that were somewhat silly, and so most of them actually thought about the name, Keitaro quickly hit the random feature.
