Matrix bro. We don't want you to give up on becoming a Critical X mod no way. It's just going to take time. Let me ask you this. What is your purpose in being a Critical X member. Just so you can become a Critical X mod? If you find that you can't become a Critical X mod then become something greater that's not being Critical X mod. Even greater than anything, be you bro. Become something of Critical X that noone else can be.

Chance of becoming an Xtreme MOD: Fairly low. (Lots of reasons, some not your fault, don't sweat it.)
Chance of becoming an Xtreme Tech Support: Much higher but still relatively low. (Below 50% currently in an arbitrary sense.)

Chance of becoming a Critical X MOD: No idea, I'm not currently taking much charge
in the group since I've never been to a Critical X event so far (I think?)
and I just don't have time I guess. You should talk to the Co-Admins and others that are
generally very active in Critical X.

Hey, maybe there should be a Critical X Tech Support? Kinda like a Critical X Mod but
you give technical advice? (But I guess you'd have to know the Critical X routes and everything perfectly, etc.)

Yeah, exactly!
Out of the 400+ registered members here, how many are MODerators?
Currently only 6 and only 3 of those are active.
This suggests that being a moderator is NOT a popularity contest.
It's a job. Not a cool badge you wear to get respect.
It's a serious job that requires full and responsible function.
Being a Tech Support means to give advice and help to those with technical issues.
On Xtreme, there are no ranks that you can get higher up in so to speak,
sure being a MOD is higher than being a regular member and a regular member
is more respected than a member that has never posted...
But the main thing is that not everyone was meant to be a MOD. (Doesn't mean you're 'not good enough',
it just means you shouldn't bother considering being one, just enjoy being a member, nearly everyone else is! )
It's not a fun thing. It's a job. Not a fake-ish job that makes you say 'oh hey I'm a guy in uniform... ' kinda job,
I mean a serious job that requires work.
Who likes work? No one.

A MOD isn't a rank that you're guarenteed to get or 'NEED' to get.
It's just a system of moderators that maintain civilisation in a forum. THAT'S IT!
Let me give an example because I'm talking a bit here...

Example:
In early school life you may have been awarded stickers
like coloured dots and golden stars.
Sure every moral kid would want to do good and get some stars more than dots
but dots are fine too.

A MODerator is completely different. It's not an award.
It's maintenance. Purely that.

When you register for Xtreme, you shouldn't have in mind
'I'm going to try my best to be a MOD because I like authority.'
Not really what I was going for.

It should be like this:
'Hey 400+ members most likely players and ex-players in one forum!?
COOL!
I'ma see if there's some old buddys of mine here
and while I'm here, talk about FusionFall stuff and read some cool posts.
After all, that's what a forum is about, reading posts and contributing posts.'

I hope this clears things up.
Maybe I glamourised MODs too much.
Think about it though, (in regard to respect)
out of these two, who does the majority of Xtreme
respect MORE, Hom Choi or Grumpy?
The answer: None. They are generally equally respected.
Pawnzor (who has less posts, yep you heard right, posts don't make a single difference, it's what you post, not
how many posts you make, that board is just there for fun, LITERALLY!)
Pawnzor has contributed a lot and has a very fair and cool personality like
Grumpy, so he's respected to the same level as him.
In fact, everyone is respected around here almost exactly equally as long as they're not hostile.
Hom is a MOD, Grumpy isn't. But they're both very good members
that have contributed so much and have behaved nicely.
They'll forever be remembered as some of Xtreme's coolest members.
I mean look at all that art work Grumpy has shared!
Plus it all looks professional. Jealousy is evil.... Lol just kidding.

So yeah, what I'm trying to say is, being a MOD isn't all it's cracked up to be,
forget being a MOD, it's not as enjoyable as being a regular member.

Not much really. If you're paranoid about members
going against you and you just want to be able to censor them out, well....
That's why me, Hom, Undelos and Oliver are here. To prevent that stuff.

And i know you think hom should not be a mod.I heard back in the days he was really helpful.Dont get me wrong he still is but it doesnt hurt to have fun.

Being a mod isnt really all that. Its just the title I guess some people like. However, you can do can do all the Mod stuff - minus the powers and the official rank simply by having good judgement and being impartial and fair.

That's honestly what makes a person Moderator material. Common sense, the ability to listen, stay calm through an argument while trying to maintain control of the situation.

To tell you the truth, whenever I get on here, one thought that always runs through my head is:

"I hope no idiots have started acting up today...."

Most days, I get my wish.

Other days, I have to crowd control.
