I really think so. Maybe besides The Avengers... this has to be hands down one of the best Marvel / super hero movies ever made.
Such memorable characters, great plot and it is so hilarious!
I do not recommend this movie for kids, as it does have plenty of profane language. But even if you are a kid you will still love this movie even adults did. My aunt hates super hero movies and when she saw it she was surprised how good it was.. It had some of the best reviews to by critics.
Highly recommend its like the best movie this summer.

It has Vin disiel and Batista,  the manliest of menz.



Someday I'll watch the movie.

The best superhero movie to date is still The Dark Knight in my opinion.

For best Marvel movie, I'd say it's pretty much a tie between Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Avengers comes at a close 3rd. They are all good movies and this is just my opinion, so don't take it for granted.

But I mean c'mon, you can't resist this cuteness...



  

And I have to admit, Guardians has absolutely one of the best soundtracks I've heard in years. Hands down.

Here's my review of guardians of the galaxy...


The pros:
- suuuuuper funny   , i'm pretty sure i was laughing more at it, than my boyfriend was (he was the one who dragged me to see it) i thought it was freaking hilarious!!! Soooo many great lines... plus the whole metaphors thing xD hahahaha

- great main characters!!!   they did an awesome job at introducing all the main characters. They got just enough backstory to let you understand, but not too much as to where you are not bored.

-soundtrack.      'nuff said.


The cons:
- probably the most boring villian ever.   i'm not really one for super powers, i think they're kind of boring... i tend to avoid superman, and even though i love captain america and spiderman, they can't be my number ones because they have powers... this villian was practically undefeatable, and i don't really care if he wants to defeat stuff just because he can... and why does the main character care so much about this place? It's not earth, earth isn't even mentioned...

- besides the main characters and humor... the rest wasn't very good...   as a superhero movie, it was pretty dull, in general...



Now that all being said:
I do not know whether i could say it was the best marvel movie yet... captain america, winter soldier, and avengers were great superhero movies... and i definitely wouldn't say it was the best superhero movie of all time... dark knight changed superhero history... it was so dark.... and knighty..... hahahahahaha xD
And i wouldn't say it was the best movie of the summer either... i really loved edge of tomorrow, it was also hilarious and actiony and fun... it just left me leaving the theater so happy!

BUT

I definitely would see guardians again. Who knows, maybe i'd buy it too!
I definitely enjoyed myself a lot, which really is the main point of theaters...
It was a great movie, and it was awesome...
But i just wouldn't say it was particularly the "best" at anything...

Actually Glory, the Accuser doesnt have any TRUE noteworthy powers, but he is OP as heck. He appeared a few times in the show Fantastic Four: Worlds Greatest Heroes.
The drawing style in that show is off putting at first, but it slowly grows on you.

Anyways, Ronan the Accuser gave them quite a bit of grief and was a pretty tough villian for them to take down. If I remember correctly, Ronan was a Kree, which Kree's may just have superhuman strenght and flight. Not anything like telepathy, flame breath, or anything immediate like that.



Me personally, I loved Guardians of the Galaxy.

Its the first Marvel Movie to come out in which you needed to know ZERO previous exposition about the characters. Say for instance Zero's Aunt. She was able to enjoy the movie because everything to understand about the characters were presented in the movie. You didnt need to research each hero's abilities and powers or their weaknesses.


Guardians of the Galaxy is just a fun Space adventure that is centered around a band of misfits that become friends and brothers in arms.

Thats why the music choice was what it was. The Director wanted to bolster the fact to the audience that Peter was a Kid (kinda) on a grand space adventure. Thats why the music was retro, the mood was unusually light for the theme of the plot and the humor was everywhere.

Thinking about it more, the mood reminds me of Zathura but a lot more happy-like. Me personally, I'd put this over the Winter Solider simply because this movie offered more than an Octane-filled ride. The Winter Solider was explosive, fast and serious. Guardians was less about the seriousness...and incorporated something no other Marvel movie really took on; Character.

The characters and theme of it was rather charming and offered a different reason to watch and enjoy the movie.

of course superhero movies can be explosive, serious, and manly............but how many do it to 80's style american pop music?

And i do think guardians will go down as a classic, because it is so different from every other superhero movie ^.^

I also think they added that music to give more appeal to the adult audience. If you like movies like the avengers, this ones pretty good. It had some pretty epic action
