We've all been waiting... for the chance to play, not really a trailer. BUT they brought out a trailer anyway AND said that a demo will be out sometime this month.

I checked out the trailer. Me? I dunno. I'm not really waiting desperately on this. I want folks to stop rushing them and let them take their time. If the demo comes out and its bad, then everyone is gonna complain and whine.

Besides, I feel they still have more work to do. they're doing a great job so far.....it just that I dont want them to jepordize it with trying to rush out a demo.

To Undelos more specifically;

We deeply appreciate the concerns of those who want more quality over speed of release. One of our fears as the people making the game is that the players like you will dislike what they see when the demo arrives. Unfortunately, we've read around the internet and have seen very high expectations for even a demo, and unfortunately such expectations that I will not repeat for the sake of surprise will not be met. The reason we're launching a demo is to allow people to relive the FusionFall experience as quick as possible with the game having been offline for just over two years now.

Worry not, as heavy progress is still indeed being made in regards to the full game. All of us really do wish we could show you, but again, it's better we didn't at this point. Bear in mind that the foundation that the demo operates on is very much like that of the foundation that the full game will operate on, so in a sense, players will be able to help us identify bugs and glitches (playable character-wise and interface-wise) for both versions of the game without even realizing it when they post on the forums to let us know what's funky.

I actually have the opposite mindset.
From the beginning (even back when the previous FFL team were in charge, which I sort of got to know)
I suggested to just make a directory of demos.
That way, the hype isn't too crushing.
V1.7 would be a major improvement over V1.4 and so on
without it being a major deal and without putting stress on the FFL team;
think of it like this, lots of fans want some FF on their computer ASAP
and the team are under pressure.....
Everyone wants a demo.
Once it's released, the team can relax and move on with the next version.

Thing is, not everyone will be logical like me and accept that each version
is a step in progress but I think most people will be sensible enough
to just be glad a demo is out.
It's not like Unity is THAT easy to use....
Takes a bit of practice.
Still easier than Blender though.
But it's not something a random FF fan can just do him/herself overnight.

Personally, I don't care if a demo is 6/10.
Because I know at least I've got a reminder of FF
and I know that the next version might be 6.5/10 or something.
Get my drift? Seriously

Oh and of course, each demo should come with a log file stating
what improvements have been made from the previous version.

Dex returns! Razz Hi Dex. I just have to say, I appreciate all you are doing for the community. And I hope the game is all that we hope, "we" being everyone. Us at Xtreme, your team, the guys at FMHQ, even the odd stray player.

Since this is a demo, I won't be expecting much. I've played demos before. Razz Speaking of which, what exactly will the demo have? Will it be basically like the future back in the days of Unlimited Access or are you still working it out? Also, is it true you'll have both the Academy and Future in? I've only seen the Future so far (thank Hylia), but also the Academy armour. If so, will it be like my idea where the player can choose where they want to train or... what?

One more question (finally), how about something Xtreme-related, eh? Too Funny Ed Face

EDIT: Oh yeah. I'm not going to complain either. It's not like we have any other way to play FusionFall right now. No Idea

This is something that the previous FFL team were considering to do once
it became convenient enough (presumably after major core components of the game were done).

Weren't you there on the old old FFL forum when I suggested
to have FF fansite Head Quarters buildings with an "employee of the month"
idea and all that?

Well, I got to know that FFL team....but I don't know
this one. So I can't say whether this idea transferred over from the previous team.
I have my doubts.

But we can suggest it again I guess.
Of course, we'd have to come up with an Xtremist HQ building design.

Don't know what happened to the OLD OLD version. (That's where the majority of the ideas

Well it doesn't have to be a building or explorable area. The 7 Legends Space Station could just be in the sky along with Planet Fusion and maybe the KND Moonbase. Shrug

That's actually a cool idea too though....
Although that space station has only been used in your universe so I have no idea
how it's supposed to look like in your mind.

But an Xtremists HQ tower will be a fan base necessity one day
when FFL is big. And from the inside, you would be able to explore.

From what I remember, there is no Sunbase.

(How could you build a base on a star anyway? Anything would just disintegrate if you get anywhere near it. I guess if you put it on a comet, but that would be more like a cometbase. Plus, there's always a possibility the comet would collide with a planet, so...)

So, since you are still lurking, what plans do you have for the Beta release day? Stream on Twitch (yes, I've taken to twitch very passionately lately.) in game event?
How do you have the server thing set up btw? thats what I've always wondered. Are you gonna be able to handle all the players logging in?

then yeah but she said extensive....assuming her use of the word incorporates
the meaning of covering a wide area....presumably in terms of density rather

To be honest, Undelos sometimes makes walls of texts,
but they're usually of a large font size and often formatted in
a visually appealing way, if memory serves well.
