This is my laptop:
It's an Acer Aspire 7551g.
It's specs:
- 1GB dedicated graphics card (like the main reason I got it)
- 17.3 inch screen (native resolution is 1600x900)
- 4Gb ram
- 2.1 GHZ triple core processor
- Windows 7 operating system (64-bit)
- 500GB hard drive. (Such a lie....more like mid 400s
)
It can run FusionFall and most games fine on most settings.
Yep, 4thHokage, your new laptop can easily run FusionFall.
FusionFall doesn't really slow down computers, it's a browser game!
Now, if you had tons of downloaded games, CD games, other non-browser based games,
your computer would slow down quite a bit.
The biggest things to slow a computer down are:
- Viruses, trojans, malware, spyware, rootkits, etc.
- Unnecessary programs running in the background and at start up.
- Having lots of files and programs installed on your computer. (Not like a dozen...I mean like HUNDREDS...
I think I have OVER 200 programs installed and many many many thousands of files.
)
So yeah, my computer isn't really slow but can be a bit weak on the performance side.
- Overheating! Dust! Damage! That physical stuff...
- Time. You've heard time's a good healer.....but it also ages machines through wear and tear and
on short periods (months) can slow software down in Windows and Windows itself. (Accumulated errors and
stuff I don't understand since I'm not an operating system developer.)
Those are the main slowing factors.
I personally disable all programs at startup (by using msconfig and the startup tab)
because there's really no need. Even my antivirus software pops up a few minutes after start up so it's fine for me.
Reason MY laptop is a bit slow at times:
- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many programs and files.
When I get a 2 or 3TB hard drive, I'll back up stuff and reinstall Windows 7.
- Overheating from the past. (At some point I started using a cooling fan so further damage can be prevented.)
- Haven't reinstalled Windows 7 in a long time so software must have gotten
corrupted, problems accumulated, registry problems, etc.
Because of the 7 Legends movie, I still have to delay reinstalling my OS because
there are hundreds of GB of video to edit.
