Its when the original poster thanks some one.In this case red thanked me so i got the grey background

It means the orginal poster thanked me. Red was the original poster so when he thanked me it made my post like that

IF any of you were to make a thread and thank anyone who commented on it it would make the background of it black

Points is a sum up of the amount of friends you have,the amount of posts you have made,the amount of rep you got and etc

Also, the reputation and points thing was just added as an experiment and
also because it was requested.
