Here it is: (I don't have the time currently but if I did, I'd probably make a trailer for a FusionFall movie.... of a non-existent FusionFall movie project...  )  Weird animation...I know...Was supposed to be a "I lead with my head and heart, then kick a guy in the background at the last second" kinda move... The motion blur really does make a difference.  |

| Anime Varies too much. Some are for kids. Others are for an older crowd.
To compare anime to what we watch:
Its like comparing Family Guy, the Simpsons, Bob's Burgers to Scooby Doo, Powerpuff Girls, and Young Justice.
They all vary just as much as Anime Does. You say its hard to describe Anime or think that its blasphemous to Compare Anime to cartoons? Just imagine how hard it is for the Japanese to describe the difference in maturity between Family guy and Young Justice.
Some say THOSE would both be cartoons. however Young Justice is comparable to Naruto, but Family Guy would be comparable to something like Panty and Stocking.......but a little less raunchy if you can believe.
So, Just keep that in mind when reguarding this subject.
There's many different genres of Anime that are designed for different types of audiences just as well in other parts of the world there are different types of cartoons marketed for different types of viewers.
+ The Anime genre Shojo is marketed for young girls and would consist of shows like Sailor Moon and Precure. These are the types that would more often than not wind up on kid stations and be quickly mistaken as Cartoons.
+ The Anime genre Shonen is marketed for guys and consist of popular shows like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, DragonBall Z, and Fairy Tail. I believe it also includes Bakugan and Beyblade. With some editing, they can find themselves on kid stations as well.
+ However the Anime genre known as Harem are marketed for an older audience, usually catering to the typical plot where one average guy somehow winds up in the company of 3 or more beautiful girls. They may or may not like him, but it caters to that fantasy that a guy is surrounded by three pretty girls for a reason that he may or may not like.
This consists of shows like Rosario + Vampire, Is this a Zombie, Heaven's Lost property, and Girls Bravo.
These may vary in their level of Maturity.............but more often than not, you will NEVER find these on a kid station.
So yes, dont be so upset when someone makes that mistake. |
