I was bored and had a pencil and paper in front of me..... I cut out the writing underneath because it made the picture even worse.
Sorry for the lack of detail and massive space, not to mention the number of errors in proportion (e.g. one of the arms) and light and shade. (Also, the swords aren't very straight, I didn't use a ruler... ._. ) Bah...I even made a huge error on one of the hands....need I explain which one?
I wasn't really bothered to finish it to a decent-ish standard. Just a kind of preview to how XLR8 147 would look as a young adult or an older teen. It was resized from a massive resolution (10200x14028) to something more manageable but there might be some pixelation/blurring.
I'm not very good with colouring drawings with Photoshop or Gimp so I left it out.

Lol! -Cough- YouTube tutorials.
And besides, I only used Gimp to change the white balance slightly to make the dark colours
darker and the light colours, lighter. It was hand drawn with one type of pencil. (2B...I don't remember....but for good drawings, you should use
a whole set of dark pencils and a few lighter ones.)
The text 'XLR8 147' is easy to achieve with brushes and a decent font.

Can you make another Drawing of your character?

To tell you the truth, we wouldn't have noticed the errors you pointed out...............unles you were to point it out. I've done that a lot of times where I would feel self conscience about the work I produced and someone had told me that they wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't said anything. So yeah, try to have more faith in your work. you'd be surprised.

I actually would just freehand the edge of a blade. I wouldn't use a ruler for it. It's too cumbersome and I could just do the job as quickly as I could get the ruler out. You're much better with text than I am in Gimp. I couldn't figure out how to customize it in GIMP or anything.


Lastly, if it was a typical school pencil you drew with then yes, it's a 2B. I stopped drawing with 2B's about 2 years ago. Unless you plan on producing a drawing(with shading, texture, etc.) then it's not really any use to have a full set of pencils with different hardnesses.

I use a 4H hardness now. This lead draws lighter, this way I can erase mistakes a lot better without the graphite staining the paper, it also stays sharper longer due to the lead being harder than a 2B, but because it is harder, this means it also leaves less graphite, which means the lines and such won't NEARLY smudge as much as a softer lead pencil

It's my primary pencil In case I want to outline something with ink eventually.

HB is the standard school pencil here in the UK or at least in my school/area.
I used a 2B because it was lying around and I tend to use dark pencils like 4 - 6 B pencils.
Light pencils don't agree with me, they tend to be stubborn and bland in their result and are just too light for nearly all my purposes.
I would remake out but my laziness prevails once again.
You can use it add a reference sure but the trousers have so little detail that it's embarrassing. If I remake it, I'll make trousers similar to Sam Fishers' and other third echelon agents' uniforms from the splinter cell series because the style is simply awesome.

They use the same standard here. HB is a common term for pencils here too.

I know. But that's what a reference is. It is simply taking an idea and building off of it. I just didn't know what your preferred look was.
But now I know, I can build off of it. I don't want to make XLR8 into something that you aren't proud of. To tell you the truth, I actually work on his design the most out of everyone.

Of course that's a given......since the main part of the story is centered around him.

Well I was busy procrastinating and praticing character expressions and poses for the comic (still a little nervous I won't do a good job....) but since this tragety has happened, I shall make it a top priority even though I am NOW without the use of Photoshop once again.

I guess you haven't seen my post in "Announcements" but my computer is back down. I am actually gonna try fixing my Workstation laptop since that one is built for heavy demands. It might be a bit but trust me,

I'm just as impatient as you are to get this done.
