@Pistol, O_O
Who Photoshopped Megas XLR?
@Taluring, I personally would scrap the idea of being a graphics designer and leave it as either a backup or even better....
a side job.
My priority is Science when it comes to what type of job I want, media and graphics never really convinced me
of having a secure and worthwhile working life.
Do you have any other strong subjects that can help you get a better job than a graphics designer?
(not saying it's boring 'cause lol, being paid to produce digital art sounds awesome but sadly it doesn't pay THAT much in most companies - you will be lucky if Coca Cola hire
you can keep you for even a year - it's also difficult to
get and maintain, also consider you may have days when you just can't get some good art, it happens to everyone I guess, it's like writer's block)
Logical subjects always have the upper hand when it comes to jobs.
I have a friend in class who has a good understanding of Physics but he is determined to become a video game
developer, I believe he isn't going in the right direction because:
1) He may save lives or help contribute to helping easy living or something else beneficial for humans.
2) Physicists get payed a lot more.
3) Physicists have a much higher chance of maintaining their job.
4) Video games are trivial in comparison...but their still awesome! Lol.
*Apparently* the game developer, EA, (Electronic Arts)
are absolute slave drivers, if you don't GO OVER TIME, they will FIRE you.
They don't give you many breaks and the working conditions are horrible.
Now I like EA in terms of the fact I like Crysis which was made by Crytek and EA;
however, I would not be surprise if it were true because I got to say, the graphics and physics and everything
in BattleField 3 (EA and DICE) are spectacular! So it suggests people were working over time on these EA games
but I won't confirm anything since I don't know for sure.
My friend probably wants to be an indie developer, (independent dev) which can be just as bad if not worse, or slightly possibly better...if you're lucky and awesome in your field of graphics or physics or maths or whatever necessary for the contribution of a good video game)
