| so guys post what you think makes a great final boss great in any kind of game whatsoever, it can be a shooter, a platformer, an rpg, or anything, but enough random talk, so here's my opinions:
First, a cool story leading up to it Second, a nice challenge (but not as hard as Hiruko Ubisuna from Shinobi) Third, some awesome music Fourth, great visual effects (i'm mostly looking at Kingdom Hearts 2 on that 1) Fifth, no easy and cleeshay, hit him in the obvious weakspot, repeating and predictable patterns, etc.
anyway, now you may post what you think |

| I'd say hard, but easy enough for me to beat without dying a trillion times and awesome music.
Like Bowser in Super Mario Sunshine. Funny how the first time I get up to a final boss, I sometimes kill him in one go, but when I face the same boss again sometime, I die a lot. Like Bowser in SMS.
The Titan Dweevil in Pikmin 2 is a great example for a final boss! The Pikmin required to kill him are Yellows, Reds, Blues and Whites. Here's a good strategy:
- Disband all Pikmin. - Take all your Yellows (One of the attacks is an electrical attack, which they're immune to, and is an insta-kill). All other Pikmin go to the other leader and take that other leader to behind the exit. - ATTACK!
The Titan Dweevil's attacks are:
- Comedy Bomb (Poison attack. Is sprayed around the arena in a spiral) - Monster Pump (Water attack. Is sprayed out in the air and can reach even the exit, so when the TD uses this attack, make sure you switch to your other leader to make sure no Pikmin are hit) - Shock Therapist (Electric attack. Insta-kill to all Pikmin but Yellows. Can stun your active captain, but cannot hurt him. - Flare Cannon (Fire attack. Like the Comedy Bomb, it's sprayed out in a 360 spiral)
It took me a couple of hours to take this guy down cause before I could reach him, one of my captains was KO'd, and the Monster Pump killed most of my Pikmin while I couldn't do anything about it!
Je.rk. Also, his theme changes depending on what attack he's using, and how many parts have been taken off him. |

| Should always be challenging...better powers than previous enemies, and finally NOT be completely predictable. |

yeah, final bosses or any boss for that matter shouldn't be completely predictable, that just makes the boss overly easy and simple, now the croc games on the ps1, they made the bosses patterns change slightly and makes the attacks harder to avoid, but overall, the final, final boss on the secret island was way too easy, seeing as how all you had to do was get all the gongs ringing at once, and it was especially easy seeing as how there's a glitch/oversight that allows you to just jump to the gong platforms directly |
