Well I use Adobe Photoshop. I've only watched two tutorals in Photoshop, and those were by accident. Other Programs that I have heard of people using is SAI Paint Tool and GIMP. GIMP is an Open Source program, which means it is intentially free for anyone to use.

Restoring cell images of characters is very Tedious. My avatar was horrifingly pixelated in the picture that I got it from. I took a snapshot right in front of Mandark Industries a year ago. It was going to be for a Halloween picture.

I just never got it done. Sucks....

I'm very good with taking restoring pictures. Taking the modules off the screen is only as difficult as the snapshot that youre working with.

It's hard to explain but I'll try my best; If I can take one with as few things behind the modules as possible and/or there is a repeating mesh-like image that no one will notice any editing marks such as gravel, shrubs, sand, water, grass, etc. then I can do it with no problem.

Take for example, the tree in the upper left hand corner of the picture. That was fairly easy for me to finish because all I had to do is......well....more or less, a simple matter of copying and pasting bits of the tree's leaves over the FusionMatter Gauge. Its not exactly like that but that is the best way to put it.





However, If I have to restore a part of a picture like the floor or wall panel with a Design or something that cannot be simply "cut-and-pasted" like this picture below...............................THAT would take a long time.

Of coarse, I respect your graphical methods.
However, I would just like to suggest that it's quite unnecessary to go through all that trouble.
To remove the fm meter you could try either cropping (bad idea I know) or
blend it with another picture using a mask but that's up to you.
I'm very suprised it took 4 hours, I mean it's a good render but it doesn't look like a 4 hour piece.

If you're working for a graphics company MAYBE your method is best (I don't understand your method though, if you could explain that could help me out! )
I usually use feather cut out techniques and mask blending, sometimes I just cut and cover it with some graphics.
People don't complain about small mistakes on fansites anyway.
Although jelous trolls may one day try...but then you could quite easily insult them

I usually use photoshop for elements that are difficult or impossible to recreate in gimp
however I mainly use Gimp.
(I would use photoshop but it lags with huge projects and doesn't have as much of a comfortable interface as Gimp does)

Lol of coarse I do art work, this whole website is surrounded by my graphics xD well around 90% + (I didn't create the cartoonnetwork characters for example )
I don't know what the spot healing tool is but there's something in gimp called 'healing tool'
lol I assume they do the same thing.
I don't however, know how to use it or know what it's used for because I never had to use it
