I tried FusionFall Heroes for the first time.
I gotta say, for a website game, it's pretty good!
It reminds me of Wizard 101, Minimatch, FusionFall and Runescape. (Not a fan of Runescape but whatever.)
I'll rate just for fun:
For a game (personally and universally): 6/10 (not my kinda game so ignore this score for fairness)
For
a website game: 7.7/10 (would be better with less repetitive missions with a
small story, changed perspective/field of view with a visible horizon
(FusionFall style perspective you know?) and chat would make this a
brilliant game.)
Obviously I understand adding chat would be difficult/time consuming and maybe expensive due to moderating chat
but I'm just saying.
Pros:
-Good graphics.
-Good maps.
-Not laggy (ON MY LAPTOP....but hey it can run Crysis so don't take mine as a benchmark lol)
-Addictive nature of the game.
-FusionFall theme.
-FusionFall characters and items that are very recognisable!
Cons:
-Since it's Unity...crashes are almost inevitable. I crashed ONCE but it was that ONE time that stopped
me playing lol. (I was gonna try another hero but I got severely lazy..
)
-Some heroes (playable characters) were not that fun to play, (e.g. Four Arms and Dexter)
their combat was not very ....I CAN'T DESCRIBE IT! It felt too....automatic and delayed?
Playing as Fin and Mordecai were more satisfying for me because the melee weapons they had were
much more fluid, instant, quicker, and realistic, physical, etc. Sorry, best way I can describe it.
-Repetitive missions. (Felt never ending, you know? But it's difficult incorporating varying combat and gameplay...
even big video games like Crysis 2 were pretty repetitive...it's difficult getting it right.
)
Plus, how many website games aren't repetitive to an extent? For fairness, I'd say the repetitiveness wasn't that bad.
-The
perspective: I don't like it personally but it can't be helped. If the
view was like FusionFall's view with a horizon, maybe the game would
lag...I dunno.
-Something that could improve it: servers with more than 4 people. (Like MiniMatch and FusionFall.)
The game was much better than I expected.
A good contribution to Cartoon Network website games.
Well
done to the developers. For a website game, this is pretty good. (I was
wrong thinking it was just another 2.5D flash game... (though I don't
often play website games so my whole post could just be invalid and
useless. Just commenting.
)
It's a Unity game, decently 3D though not my preferred perspective.)
It
also reminds me of the good CartoonNetwork halloween game with CN
characters like Dexter, can't remember the name. (Shockwave plugin
game.)
EDIT: Trick Or Treat Beat was the game name: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/games/cc/trickortreatbeat/index.html
I think this game (ignoring the fact there's no chat) is almost in the same league as MiniMatch! (Minimatch was only better
because of the chat and the fact servers had lots of players BUT my memory of the game is faint so this comment is unreliable.)
This game has a lot of potential but whatever, it's still pretty good for a website game. (It's unfair to compare
it with FusionFall because FusionFall is an MMO, 3D, has a horizon kinda perspective view, has chat, has had more
people and time put into it, etc.)
Good work to the developers, and thanks to them for considering the FusionFall theme!
I kinda like the egg feature even if they are a bit expensive..
So yeah. Nice game. Not my kinda game but pretty decent.
I don't like officially critisising peoples' work....(Well I just generally don't like critisising...makes me feel bad.
)
But I'm just commenting for discussion purposes.
