look... i was a little 6 year old girl... and while everyone else wanted princess costumes... i got a spiderman suit and it was the happiest moment of my childhood life...


yeah now that i'm older, and i look at the pros and cons, he really isn't my favorite... but he's in the top 3
that being said... he has the most sentimental value....

so he wins...
plus.... i don't know much about green lantern, but he seems lame....

.... to have this be a real competition, it should have been spidey versus iron man or batman...

cept that's not fair, because iron man and batman don't actually have powers... so they're the coolest....

In a logical fight, with no prior knowledge of each other, Green Lantern would win.
All of Spider-Man's abilities focus around his spider sense. How is he to know what object the Green Lantern is going to create next? This would be Spider-Man's major downfall. Spider-Man would have no idea what the Green Lantern would do next, rendering his abilities useless.
Of course, Spider-Man's reaction times would counter this, but the Green Lantern has a great reaction time too. He could counter whatever action Spider-Man takes, and with more force than Spider-Man could handle. Green Lantern is not an idiot (assuming it's Hal), and could easily deduce Spider-Man's weaknesses. Spider-man is a genius too, but he's dealing with magic, not science. He can deal with some magics (Doctor Strange), but he is a total neanderthal with others (Mysterio, Dormammu).

like on the big bang theory i had a limited edition green lantern lantern and had a spidey suit when i was like 6 so that seems legit

I don't hate Green Lantern but Spider-Man is way superior in my opinion.
The only thing I can think of that would stop Spidey in his tracks

Green Lantern's reflexes are nothing above average
human pilot reflexes as far as I know.

Spider-Man:
-can dodge bullets.
-Spider sense makes him almost invincible depending on how
lenient the writer is on what emotions/distractions reduce
the efficiency of the spider sense to what extent in what scenario.
-has super human strength. (Can lift AT LEAST 10 tonnes, but other writers go well
beyond his...to like 20-25 but there have been feats where he lifts like a 70 tonne tank and stuff....so yeah.)
-is probably much much faster than Hal.
-more agile, more flexible, can endure more I assume, etc.
-is way smarter than Hal.
He is arguably around Tony Stark's level of intelligence or some other genius deciding factor.
(Though Tony shows it more as he's rich and has had a good start from day one.
Spidey's had problems paying rent, fighting crime while havign teenage problems, etc.)

Spidey is a one man army.
He owns.
No hate on Greeny though. 
(To tell you the truth, I don't know much about Green Lantern.
Only really seen him in the Justice League cartoon some years ago.
Not sure if that was Hal or another Lantern.)

I'm saying Spider-Man's spider sense would mean diddly-squat. If he knows a bullets coming, he can dodge it. If he knows a car's coming, he can dodge it. However, Green Lantern could throw all of that and a few tables if he wanted to. Spider-Man has no way of knowing what form Hal's willpower would take, making the spider sense useless. His agility is far superior to Hal's, i can say that, but Hal's reaction times are pretty good (less so than Spider-Man's). Forcefields can be simple blocks. IF Spider-Man could land a few hits, Green Lantern would be done for. The problem lies in getting the hits in.
