Just played it for an hour or so and I actually quite like it!
It's not really my kinda game but I DO LIKE the fact it has brilliant
characters in it. (I mean NPCs. The character creation isn't too diverse, particularly since you can't be human.)
Just my (current) personal opinion on the game so far:
Bad:-No WASD functionality, you have to click where to go.
Although, at least we're able to drag our characters as opposed to only
being allowed to click here and there. (Mouse click sounds annoy me.
)
-Camera angle is OK but could have been so much better if the camera was like FusionFall's view.
-Sometimes there's a delay/pause before using things/objects.
-Sometimes it's a little quiet in the game. Also, I didn't see that many players on
the server I was on.
-Kinda on the 'mostly for young children side' but it's not THAT childish.
It's acceptable enough I guess. (I found games like Toon Town and Roblox to be way more childish and honestly quite boring but that's just my opinion. Probably a flawed opinion, I dunno.)
So yeah, the pacing is a little slow but it's ok.
-Character creation isn't that good. (Can't choose to be a human and the animals available are only modifiable to
a moderate extent.)
Good:-Nice characters like Scooby Doo, Fred, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc. (WITH GREAT VOICE ACTING.)
It's kinda like watching a 3D episode of Scooby Doo or Looney Tunes.
-The gameplay
isn't too repetitive and the missions have a sort of story/reasoning for doing them.
-Good animations. (Sometimes glitchy though but it's not worth mentioning since it doesn't affect the experience at all.)
-Pretty fun. (Hence why I could give it a chance long enough to play it for at least an hour and I'm 17 lol despite
it's primary target audience age.)
-Although it's quite money concentrated, there are two options for paying
for items or missions: game money or the other kind of money which you could buy with real money.
Also, it's nice that, when you pay for a mission, you get more than your money back (via coins in that mission)
so you don't really lose money and you feel a little more economically secure lol.
-It has free chat! Although...I couldn't say 'XLR8 147' or 'FusionFall' (but I could say Fusion Fall with a space)
but I could say 'Xtreme'.
-Decent enough graphics. (I'm not really fussy over graphics (I.E. textures and special effects) but aesthetics I do
care a fair bit about and it does LOOK good so no complaints there. It doesn't look UGLY so that's a good thing.)
-Good music.
-I like also like the atmosphere and presence of the game, from the subtle things like
the rain drops on the pirate ship, to the sky, lighting and colour scheme, etc.
My ratings for the 'bigger' CN games out there: (Very arbitrary scores and just for fun......I'm not good with
objective ratings but I can give good subjective/qualitative descriptions as above)
FF (FusionFall) - 9.3/10
CU - (Cartoon Universe) 8.3/10
FC (Formula Cartoon) 6.5/10
FFH (FusionFall Heroes) - 6/10
They're very random ratings...I don't really have a system for determining an accurate score based on
my experience but the reason I didn't enjoy FFH FC as much as the other two was probably because
of the repetitiveness and lack of free chat.
But all those games have potential somewhere. Even small things like camera angle changes can change a game
dramatically but I won't go into all that stuff.
I'm going to rename this thread...it kinda deserves a less random title.
*Swiftly looks at Undelos.*
EDIT: also, in Cartoon Universe, there was a part that involved a different camera view
(similar to FusionFall's camera perspective view...you know...proper 3D looking)
and it looked pretty good. (It was a pogo stick bouncing mission thing.)
I wonder how it would have been like if they added it to the whole game? :zomg:Probably would have been better I think.
