I think it's because:

1. Older players (mid-late teens +)
don't care much about the story. (Not that the story was bad, but there
just wasn't that much story anyway, not that it needed much but I'm just saying, teenagers don't
care about a 10+ year old rated plot involving a fictional alien with few reminders through out the game.)

Maybe I payed more attention when I was younger but later
I just focused on the gameplay, graphics and social features, movie possibilities, etc.

A lot of us have finished the game years ago but finishing the game
was never the best part. The journey was.

2. The game shut down.

I think it's as simple as that.

But there are instances of fiction that make fans go crazy (in a good way)
cheering, etc. I don't quite know how to describe the formula.
It's probably a difficult thing to achieve.

FusionFall's best attribute wasn't the story, it was probably the social features, atmosphere, etc.

I cared a lot about the story. Until the expansion. The journey to beating the game is always the best, though my favourite areas to do missions in were the Future and Downtown.

I didn't like the Suburbs much as I got bored of it everytime I got to lvl 6, mainly due to the vast amount of missions compared to the size of your Fusion Matter Meter.

For me the game never lost its charm.

@oliver ... i once got my entire math class to sing bohemian rhapsody by queen and Lips of an Angel by hinder lol xD

And lol, i never finished the game xD i always just talked to people xD i loved dressing up my girl though, like i had so many themed outfits xD maaan i wiiish i took pictures so bad lol xD i mean i did eventually quit (le gasp) just cuz all my friends were leaving

I care. There are some songs I'd like to sing to, but too embarrassed. Not that I haven't embarrassed myself like a million times already.

Most of the time, I sing them when no one else is around, and I'm wearing headphones so my ears don't bleed.
