Subject: FusionFall Animation Test Sat Nov 16, 2013 2:07 am
A rough FusionFall animation test that involves XLR8 147 (police chief and head of the Xtremists) having a press conference. (I know, I know, I could have done something more exciting like a fight scene....but I only have one rigged and textured character right now...)
Animating didn't take that long, surprisingly. (Mere minutes.) Rendering took AAAAAGES, like...a couple of HOURS or so. (800 frames at a fairly high resolution. But not that high.) The video editing took longer than I wanted since I had to animate other elements, colour correction stuff, fix the stupid border, (and still couldn't fix the pixelation, guess I should have rendered at a higher resolution even though it would take even longer to render ) had to add flashing lights and sounds too.
Remember, I didn't do any animating for months and suddenly I went back to it so this kind of implies that it's not too difficult to try doing decent animation. But the rendering times have seriously demotivated me from doing anything like this again... Still, it was interesting making it with little experience.
Also, just saying, texturing is confusing, I may have corrupted or switched texture files (as well as toon shading layers messing up the process too) so yeah and rigging takes a long time if you want it right. :/ (With weight paint.) I guess these things wouldn't be much of a hassle if it wasn't for my memory... every time I go back to this animation stuff, I have to try to remember the steps I took or look at tutorials, either way, it takes a long time. If I had those problems sorted, I would have probably quickly made animations of several characters like Hom Choi, Oliver and other peoples' characters that I ripped. Maybe even a proper fight scene with Hom Choi and a SACT dude (if I ripped any SACT people that is...) involving running, jumping and minor violence. The other main issue, is time. Animated in Blender.
By the way, some of the character animation movements did not match up due to a change of plan in the script so it is a bit weird but whatever. It was a rough test. For example, when X puts his hand in the air, he was going to say something like "no one knows" or "it's a mystery" but I didn't have time to think of a perfectly fitting script. And I'm lazy and impatient.
EDIT: Ya know, now that I think about it, I should have put a police or Xtremists or Xtreme FusionFall logo in the background....

Looks like someone's in trouble with SACT...! And you really need to do your own voice acting for X. I'm thinking the Dark Knight's voice... or at least Animated Batman's. Hom's could be Aang's when in the Avatar State (Skip to 07:55):
Or a slightly different one at 0:25:

Wow! That actually came out really great! Makes me feel that I can really animate something. Do you mind if I have a copy of X? I wanna see what I can do with his texture map.
I'd be more enthusiastic about getting started if it werent for my job. Enough excuses though. Guess it's high time to figure out how to work with this day hog that pays the bills.
I like the fluidity of the movements. Not too keen on the constant zooming in though. If that wasnt in there, it would have been leagues better..........but just like you said, its just a test.
I like to say it came out alright!

You were.
You and Bradley got into a fight on who was gonna attempt to assassinate The Hom this week. So you ended up trying to kill each other and destroyed seven City Blocks including one Orphanage.
Thank goodness it was being Fumigated that day...
Cant believe you forgot.

And still no one said anything about my idea for Hom's voice should X decide to do one of these with Hom.

*Sudden idea*
How about we make a sequel to the 7 Legends, using these rips? Of course, we'd need scenery.

I think so, but I don't think we can use it. Maybe. Even if we can, we may not have enough. And I'm not sure if all Legends were ripped. I mean, X was, as we can tell in his drawings.
...No one's gonna get the joke, are they? :sigh:

@everyone, thanks!
@Undelos, ok I can give you the blender file if you want? The rigging isn't that good but it's good enough to experiment with. And yeah the camera movement was way too excessive but rendering times take so long I couldn't be bothered to render again! Also, it looked better in the raw green screen version. And I couldn't find a better voice for X, that I haven't used for other characters. And Oli, I can't find a Batman text to speech generator.

This is really cool. Maybe with some of our character rips wilt can put them in game as npcs so "technically" we are not copying any CN characters. Than again CN has rights to some of the clothing in fusionfall. Copyright is a trick thing no? :/
