I loved playing FusionFall. I played it since it came out. Even though i would get bored and quit. I would keep playing the game.

     Then one day, after not playing on anything cartoon network related in about a year. I came back. I came back to see that long lost beauty that i once so dearly loved.    But alas! I was to late. She died. 

      I started feeI finally realized that the FF i came to know and love was know more. I felt like a wonderful part of my childhood was missing.
       I felt mixed emotions. Regret.   . Anger    . A feeling like i was clicking something wrong.    I blamed myself for not playing.   

       I looked through my history   without any luck. Hoping that i could find something. I even playing fusionfall hero's             I thought that I should contact   . 

I guess what I am trying to say is,   FFF   FUSIONFALL FOREVER!

I now want answers. SO i am making a list of questions

1. Why did they shut down fusionfall. I do understand that they fired Grigon(I think)
   
2. Are there any attempts to revive it by CN.
   
   
3. Is CN bankrupt or something because there cartoons are ## now.
   
   
4. Should I just accept the fact that the community, the game, and my love are gone forever?

Hey, you're kinda new so welcome to the forum anyway!  
I like Doctor Who.  
Anyway, I think Grigon became bankrupt. (Don't know why.)
There doesn't seem to be any effort from CN to bring FusionFall back.
At least there's FF Heroes which doesn't compare but it's a shred
of what was before. 

I don't think CartoonNetwork has explained at all why they
stopped FusionFall. So we can only guess factors like:
- Servers too expensive to maintain. (But isn't advertisement revenue enough?)
- Not enough staff. (Really? They can't pay someone to do a weekly maintenance update?)
- Licenses or copyrights or whatever expired. (....Seems unlikely....this is CN here lol.)
- They don't care and wanted to kill off FF due to lower numbers of players.
Well that's kinda their fault for not advertising it enough.
I only heard about it because I went to the CN AMERICAN WEBSITE.
And I'm not even from the U.S. so that goes to show how unlikely it was
that I'd come across FF. I'm not sure how many Americans and Canadians
have heard of it because obviously, I don't have the U.S./Canadian Cartoon Network channel.
-Maybe complaints from parents? (Really unlikely....especially after this many years.)

And I don't know what shows on CN these days but if it's live action
and/or bad cartoons, then I dunno about bankruptcy but it would just seem
like a bad direction from those that choose the shows.
I think cartoons are more expensive than live action due to how
long and how difficult it is to animate. But it's CartoonNetwork for a reason.

1. They weren't making enough money. CN is a business. They don't cater to their audience, they are driven by financial gain.

As stated in the original post.
Couldn't think of any other plausible explanations. Of course, we don't have all the information
so there's that too; they're just guesses from observations and not really any data like playing figures.

FusionFall's mechanics were a little unconventional but I didn't mind them
and besides, the main target audience was about 10 years old so it kinda
makes sense they put auto aim to make it easier for younger players.

What do you mean by its mechanics being outdated?   
Perhaps I'm not familiar with the definition of game mechanics.
I thought they were pretty alright.   Even had races and extra stuff like that.
Or do you mean it was relatively repetitive or involved getting stuff for
lazy NPCs?    We did all that for them.  

As for graphics, back in 2007/2008 they were pretty good and still are pretty good now.
I mean, the texture resolutions are not that high and toon/cell shading
is kinda cheating and don't really translate well as 'good graphics'
but aesthetically, the game looks fantastic even today. (Though I must stress that the
game looked better with Toon Shading 'OFF' in my personal opinion.)

Texture resolution and model poly count aren't everything; it's quite possible
to make a game look good despite disadvantages such as these.
Perhaps it was the glow effects, particle effects, field of view or
originality in its art work of player characters and such.
Or maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia, I dunno. 
Haven't seen a proper screenshot of FF for quite a while.

Plus, work on the game started at around the mid-2000s, and Unity was still fairly new when FF was released. In my opinion, the graphics of a game reflect on when that game itself was actually being made.

What was the name of that big trading place. I forgot the name. I remember the words black and mountain.

I also liked the Toon Shading. The outline it had gave the game that small cartoon feel.  

@Undelos, yeah toon shading did make editing easier with the cartoon
outlines. (If they were thick enough and not too pixelated.)


I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of FF players are still not aware of FF's closure
because if they were, probably we'd have more activity in the online FF community.
Also, older players may be too busy studying/working to bother with FF
or even remember. I think lots of people just forgot, really.

When toon shading being turned OFF stopped working, it annoyed me quite a bit
Ok so toon shading wasn't that bad but I remember being more fond of 3D.
It had more depth and ironically...more shading.

Yeah, I loved both. But I preferred it on. And looking at earlier FF images from late-2008 to 2009, the lines were a bit thicker. And of course, back in pre-Unity Beta, there was no known Toon Shading.

Maybe it was because I turned it off most of the time.
Did toon shading improve or reduce performance? I tried doing tests
but the difference was probably so small I couldn't tell.
I just guessed it being OFF would be faster but I dunno.

It's more noticeable in one of the Game Guide's images, but I haven't got it. Could be on my USB, but I'm too lazy to check.

Sadly nearly the same thing happened to me...

I left ff because people were either harassing or just plan old not funny...

But then one day i decided to go back,
But it was closed...

Not only was i sad that i was too late...
But i was sad because it was the very afternoon of when it officially closed.
That was rough.

Really, though, i was only there for the social aspect...
So this and skype satisfy that pretty easily...

But i do miss the anonymous atmosphere...
Being whoever i wanted to be, and to have a cute character to match

Have you tried typing fusion fall or fusionfall into the search bar
from the start button in Windows? You may have forgotten you took one at some point.
You probably didn't record a video....but if you did, you could take a screenshot from the video.

Some players were harassing? I know some of them were a nasty piece of work
but I didn't think it was that bad.
Should have just blocked them.

wEll not like real real harrassing...
But just more annoying than they were before   
I hardly ever blocked anyone though...
Because if they were doing anything i would like to know, just so the surrounding people wouldn't be seeing something that i couldn't, you know? Hahaha
But generally i could deal with it fine
