DeviantArt changed their logo earlier and, well...

It looks like a big, thick vine!

I hate it when companies change their logos from unique to modern. It's as over-used and boring as Comic Sans. It just shows how lazy and uncreative some logo designers are these days.

I mean, I'm glad they kept SOME creativity here, but still.

I don't use DA but in my opinion the green part let it down
but the white text next to it is pretty nice.

this one just looks like something you'd see from a random site you google.  The other one's more recognizable at this point.

All I can say is:   DA, I leave for like 2 months, and this is what you do?

I dont mind the alternative white text, but coming from a Graphic Desgin aspect, the new green logo does not say "deviantArt."

First Impressions are everything. Just as an Employer has only a split second to evaluate what to expect from a job seeker's appearance, or a logo telling you all that you need to know about its brand, its important to showcase your brand as soon as a potential customer sees it.

If you need exposition (a sob story of sorts) to explain why your logo is the way it is........then you failed at your job.

It should be clear as soon as you see it. The previous one, in its weird, convoluted way had a "d" and an "a" in it. You could see it in a way and you know what ever this "da" thing was, it obviously had to do with some site involving those letters. So it is then you find out that its called deviantArt and due to the crisp, sleek modern design of the logo, it is a site that prides itself on trend setting and defying the ordinary.


Now its liek, some sort of race car like logo or whatever(?)
If you tile it, it makes a pattern? Also, you can see a "d" somewhere in the logo. I dunno about the last one. But it just goes to show you, thats what I was talking about. Cant see the "d". Its VERY FRUSTRATING to try to see the "d" and I dont care to anymore.

The A part has potential but no...

Often, simple and modern don't look good and instead
look lazy and unimaginative.
But an example where it does work,
is when Undelos made a more professional version of the
'X' in the Xtreme FF logo. ("XtremeRaw")

Ok....it may not be THAT simple but it still has that
squeeky clean modern look.
I tried to remake the XFF logo but got lazy.
Next time, I might just put Undelos' X into the logo.
Couldn't have made a better X myself. *Sniff*
