SSDs are faster than HDDs.
With an SSD, games would load faster and
your operating system (e.g. Windows) would start up faster.
Other than that, I don't know any other benefits of SSDs
as I don't have one myself.
Anyway, QWorld is so easy to run, like FusionFall and Wizard 101.
The problem is your emergency replacement graphics card is
so bad lol.
You said it had 10MB of VRAM??
That's less than my old old old laptop which had
less than 64MB of VRAM and couldn't play Wizard 101!!!
Even 128mb integrated graphics can run FusionFall OK.
512mb integrated graphics can run FusionFall decently.
A 256mb-512mb DEDICATED graphics card can run FusionFall very well,
with little or no lag.
The games you want to play are not too graphic intensive
so a low end modern graphics card is actually good enough.
Even some integrated graphics can run FusionFall decently.
So a dedicated graphics card is going to be even better.
You could either save up to buy a "quite good" graphics card
or you can just buy a "good enough" graphics card.
FusionFall needs at least 256-512mb of graphics VRAM (video RAM, not normal RAM).
I would recommand 1GB graphics VRAM but 512mb is good enough.
This is quite a low requirement and lots of cheap older graphics cards are capable
of playing FusionFall, I just don't know for sure if there will be any lag.
Will you be playing at 1080p resolution?
What is your processor?
I think FusionFall requires a Pentium 2GHz or better.
For the graphics,
look on
https://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpuand see the top 100.
Those near the 100 mark are good.
Those near the 130-140 mark are not as good but good enough for the games you want.
(Not 100% if you'll be able to run the games on max settings with no lag
but definitely would be able to run them on medium at least).
My old laptop ran FusionFall fast with the HD 5650 and that's
in 171st place! LOL.
I only ran it in 1600x900 resolution (not 1920x1080)
but still, you don't need an expensive graphics card to play
games like FusionFall, Wizard 101, etc.
The 940m laptop graphics card can run BF3 at 1920x1080 (1080p)
on medium settings with about 30FPS.
So it can easily run FusionFall on maximum.
The 940m is a laptop graphics card but it's
in 124th place on the list.
On Ebay I can see a second hand:
- GT 710 (161st place)
for £20.
- ATI Radeon 5770 (125th on the list)
for about £40.
- GTX 460 (101st place)
for £30-40.
- GTX 470 (96th place)
for £40-50.
- GTX 560ti (89th place)
for £40-60.
- GTX 480 (87th place)
for £30-50!
- GTX 750 (84th on the list)
for about £50-60.
- GTX 570 (76th place!)
for £40-50.
- GTX 660 (69th place!)
for about £40-50.
But just remember that some older graphics cards might use
more power than newer ones, if that bothers you.
So just look on the list and search for a used/second hand graphics card
that's good enough.
Hope this helps.
Try to find some cheap second hand graphics cards
online or near where you live and
then check where it is in the list.
Then to really make sure it's good enough,
check YouTube gameplay with that graphics card and
a game with similar graphics to FusionFall/Wizard 101/WOW, etc..
If there's no lag, it should be good.
The graphics cards on the list with 2 star ratings
or higher are good enough for the games you want to play.
