PostSubject: Otaku's Hideout   Otaku's Hideout EmptyTue Aug 21, 2012 1:22 am

Welcome fellow Otaku's that reside on Xtreme!!
This is a group focused on discussions related to Anime, manga, and anything related to Japan really. '-'

Requirements to join?
Nothing much really all you need is to have a sort of affiliation with Anime or manga, simple as that. '-'
To keep track on who's a member here, please mention your joining by posting below.

So what are we gonna do around here?
well this place is mostly for the Otaku news issues, but any discussion on the groups focus is fine here ^_^.

Leaving the Club.
If you choose to leave the club, you will be missed. If you choose to, please don't use any of the banners with the club name on it (that would be all of them). Leaving isn't exactly the same thing as being kicked out, if 3 or more members within the club sends in a complaint about you, then you'll be kicked out of the club. Of course I can't really do anything about you being not allowed to post on the club thread (That doesn't include Otaku News issues, so even if you not a member anymore or a member at all, you can still post on the Otaku News issues.), but your posts will be considered as spam, unless it's you begging to come back or want to give it another try.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ EVERYTHING ABOVE.

Check out the latest issue! [here]
Next issue will be posted in: 11-2-12

Submissions for Otaku News issues.
There are a few categories you can submit for Otaku News.

News news- just news about some stuff happening, like manga news (new mangas, one-shots, specials, ones ending, news about the authors, etc), Anime news (new ones, DVD specials, movies, etc), and stuff happening in Japan (anything related!).

AMV section- AMVs, Anime music videos, videos must require clips from an Anime and music '-'. there's no maximum number of AMVs in one issue, but remember about the content, violence, words, etc.

Just for the music- no Anime clips, but just music, Japanese music (can be a music video but with only ppl) and nightcore XP '-'

Anime Review corner- Review Anime's, Manga, and videogames (for this part I'll accept it even if it isn't Anime related or made in Japan '-'). For Anime you can review an episode and put in your thoughts on that, the series as a whole, and arc, OVAs, and if reviews on the same anime is permitted given that you put what you feel about it, opinion, etc and not just a summery (why not a summery?, cuz it will spoil it for some who might be interested, just explain your thoughts on what's happening, main problem, something that irks you, something worth mentioning, etc.). Manga, same thing, as a whole, an arc, a chapter, and if another person sends one with the same manga, has to be reviewed honestly. Lastly rate it '-' outof 5 or 10 is preferable. Picture of the anime is preferable, but you can ask someone or me to find a pic for you. Remember especially to PM these to me '-'.

Character spotlight- Just a Character from an Anime, manga, videogame, you just gotta post a pic of the character (not too big, about an FMHQ avatar size would manage), a description of the character, personality, brief history/ back story, powers, why so special, anything to note about him/her, etc. **

Who'd win in a fight- this you can put in any character given that you post a pic (not too big, about an FMHQ avatar size would manage) and a brief description of who or what this person or thing is. **

off topic stuff- self explanatory.

All submissions are preferably in a for of PM. Any categories above with a "**" means you can submit one here.

Otaku hideout banners!
Hey guys! Did you know you can have more than one image in you sig? well you can XD, but idk how big you can go on the second one, but anyway here are some banners you can put on yours!:

Vertical banners (banners you can put beside your sig):
Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner1Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner1-5Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner2Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner3Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner5Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner11Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner10Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner8Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner7Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner12Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner13vOtaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner15Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner21Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner22Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner24Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner25Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner26Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner27Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner28Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner29Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner36Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner37Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner38Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner39

Horizontal banners (banners you can put above or below your sig):
Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner1hOtaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner2hOtaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner4Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner6Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner9Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner13Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner14Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner15hOtaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner16Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner17Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner18Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner19Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner20Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner23Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner30Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner31Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner32Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner33Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner34Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner35Otaku's Hideout Otakuhideoutbanner40

Why so many? you may ask. Well It's because it's good to have a lot to choose from for people have different tastes and peoples mind change all the time, so you don't have to stay with one all the time, with that being said,
more will be placed sooner or later ^_^
What's that? You didn't like the ones I got to offer? That's alright, you can make your own or have a friend to make it for you! First of all all banners must have an Anime character on it, check with me if the character your gonna use isn't if your not sure, next here are the dimensions permitted to be an Otaku hideout banner: Horizontal banners; 450X70, Vertical; 50X200. Lastly each Otaku banner must have these texts placed on them:
vert: Otaku's Hideout Otakutext
Horiz: Otaku's Hideout Otakutexth
What do they mean you may ask? Well they say Otaku's Hideout, the group name ^_^, so have fun making them ^_^.

Now here are some that members have made:

Honorifics (san, chan, etc....)

The way these are used here are for fun only, and optional to use outside the club, but you don't have to use it in the club, because this is again, just for the fun of it. So there's going to be a lot of reading, so if you don't want to spend too long reading, then all you have to read are the parts highlighted, to give you a good enough understanding of it.

First you need to know, in Japanese, you almost always use a person's last name (e.g. Ace Fleetcommando, you'd use Fleetcommando), unless you know the person quite well or are a relative. Just calling a person by their name (without one of these honorifics) is called "yobisute" and it's considered to be pretty rude. But I guess you should use it on people who have a user name like that.

San- is considered to be not too polite and not too casual, it's safe, simple, and effective, and you can rarely go wrong with it. It can be used for men or women, young or old, and the most used. The closest analog for san would be "Mr.", "Miss", "Mrs.", or "Ms", etc. San can also be attached to the names of animals or even inanimate objects. For example, a pet rabbit might be called usagi-san would be considered childish (akin to "Mr. Rabbit" in English) and would be avoided in formal speech. Online, Japanese gamers often append a numeral 3 to another player's name to denote san (e.g. Taro3 conveys Taro-san), since the number three, written 三 (さん, san) in Japanese, is pronounced "san", and we are gamers aren't we? '-'

Sama- is a more polite version of "san". Like "san" it can be used for both men and women, young and old. This is used to people important, a VIP, or someone that's like a leader. Sometimes used toward people one greatly admires. When used to refer to oneself, sama expresses extreme arrogance.

Chan- is the diminutive form of "san", and is used for people you are familiar with, comfortable with, close with, or otherwise know well. It is usually used when refering to young girls or women and implies a closeness and familiarity that "san" doesn't. It's also used a lot more by women than men. A man might call a woman "Satomi-chan" but would probably not ever call his male friend "Daisuke-chan." Using chan with a superior's name is considered to be condescending and rude.

Kun- is used by persons of senior status in addressing or referring to those of junior status, or by anyone when addressing or referring to male children or male teenagers. It can also be used by females when addressing a male that they are emotionally attached to or have known for a long period of time. Also, in business settings, young female employees may also be addressed as kun by older males of senior status.

Senpai, kōhai and gakusei- is used to address or refer to one's senior colleagues. So at school, the students in higher grades than oneself are senpai. Teachers are not senpai. Neither are students of the same or lower grade: they are referred to as kōhai (lower) or gakusei (same, but not normally used). Senpai, is pronounced "Sem-pai."

Sensei- is used to refer to or address teachers, doctors, politicians, lawyers, and other authority figures. It is used to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill, and is also applied to novelists, poets, painters, and other artists.

Dono/tono- Tono, pronounced dono, when attached to a name, roughly means "lord" or "master". It does not equate noble status; rather it is a term akin to "milord" or French "monseigneur", and lies in between san and sama in level of respect. When used in conversation in present day it is often used as a joke expressing an exaggeration of age. This is also commonly used in anime/manga; particularly by foreigners, old people, and people of low standing, especially in shonen anime/manga.

Heika- is used for sovereign royalty, similar to "Majesty" in English.

Denka- is used for non-sovereign royalty, similar to "Royal Highness". Denka can be used by itself, like "Your Royal Highness."

Daitōryō- means "president"

So addressing me in the club you would probably use Sama( since I'm sort of the "leader" of the club), Senpai (Since I'm probably the one who' been an Otaku the longest and aware of being one), or Daitōryō (technacily I'm the "president" of he club), but I would just advise you to use whichever you think applies to me in or outside the club
^-^. Btw, for this case my last name is "Spades" or "SpadesXD."

I think he means Red from Pokemon.
