One Piece is NOT made for children. When someone gets cut nearly in half, someone gets impaled by a lava covered fist, a doctor blows himself up, anpother doctor throws knives, swords and such to maim someone, is it still made for kids?
And is SAO by any chance Sword Art Online?

There is a strong difference between Japanese TV and United States TV... Let's be honest Japanese shows as gameshows that are censored for reasons i can't say of course..... But Sword art online Is practically life or death. Kirito the main character Was a beta player (a beater) as the people of SAO call it.. There is a thing called a game gear where your brain waves take over the game and control the characters..... However normally there's a logout button inside the game when SAO was realsed there was no logout button and if you died you died in real life..... If someone tried removing the game gear it would zap your brain thus also killing you! Kirito is a solo player and only goes on occasional group events which makes it even more scary.... However kirito was a Front runner "The first people to beat the game"..... You'll have to watch the rest of the show before i spoil the whole darn thing leading up to Alfhiem online which Sword art was much better IMO

So yes sadly... One piece was made for kids..... United States Restrictions on television however makes it looks like a adult show... Just go look at 4 kids they obviously got the title of One piece first... Thus it was meant to be a kids show...

One Piece is not for kids. It is for teens at the lowest. It is published in Weekly Shonen Jump, which makes it even moreso.

lol why does it even matter , you like one piece more, we like Sword arts online more, both have things we like and dont like. Like I dont like the way some of the characters are drawn, like nami and robin close ups are ridiculously skinny. none the less both shows are great but I'm sure a lot of fans of both shows noted how popular SAO is getting even though its only on its second season. Also lots of people like to relate to what they watch right, so its like they understand sao more than one piece. like when you share your interests and problems with someone whose going through the same thing.
