I'm sure I had the idea to make this thread long ago
but guess I never got round to it.

Just curious if anyone thinks Xtreme or generally the internet
has sorta ruined their life?

As in, has spending too much time on Xtreme/the internet, wasted
precious time....oh I dunno....STUDYING?  

But seriously....I do feel that the internet has been too much
of a distraction even though it can sometimes be useful for research for example.

And what did you do to deal with it?
What does everyone think?

I think the internet is partially to blame for memory problems in young
people, including me.
What's that? You learnt a fact? Google says forget it! It's got the answers!

I'm sure there's been a study on this.
If we all were studying purely from books,
I think people in general would do better.

I hate reading from a screen/computer/tablet/phone.
Books are irreplaceable in this regard.

school ruined my life, but internet nope, i have great memories.

You guys know I'm not fat, right?

I feel like I am one of the few (maybe not few here, but few out of the total world population) that really tries to walk the thin line between interneting and outerneting

i grew up in a household where "online friends are not real friends" and "everyone is trying to kill you". 
Heck my parents didn't even want me to play FF...

There are somethings I actually agree with them on, but almost for different reasons.

Yes I understand the risks of the internet, and yes I know it is causing new trends in addictions and education in youth. 

BUT

I had access to the internet before I was 5... and I feel like I turned out alright! I love playing games, but I love to experience the world. I could live without my phone if I needed to... I even lost it for a week and didn't even care xP 

Personally I just don't get addicted to it...


Of course I care about safety, but for different reasons I think that the People online are the most dangerous.
Not only do you not know who they are, etc... 
But I don't get addicted to games or things, I get addicted to people.

when I was 15-16 and played FF and went on skype every single day, the people on skype were my main priority. (this isn't bad really, I love my friends, don't get me wrong... but,) I spent so much time online that I would make up excuses for hanging out with my friends. 
Looking back on that time I was also really depressed... 
I didn't really have a very good outlook on life.

Then at some point, I realized I needed to check where my heart lies. 

Because of this, I spend less time on skype then I did then, and I spend more time with the people around me. 
It isn't because I don't love you guys, but I just realized I needed to start spending time with the people near me, because they will only be near to me for so long...


So with all things considered, In the end I think I have turned out great. I feel like I am an example that the changing lifestyles won't necessarily make everyone a mindless zombie.

I never usually insult / joke about someone's weight.
Usually it's more likely it's a reference to being greedy.
(Although there might be some psychological explanation rather than
simply a personality trait so I don't completely blame people who eat a lot.
One factor might be eating comfort food for depression. )

Anyway, I think the humour used here, was more to do with
representing you as a sort of Shaggy figure (from Scooby Doo)
mixed with Mandark in looks.
And maybe Dexter's eccentricity?
