So, I'm not sure if any you guys here are into comics like Marvel and DC, but Marvel recently announced that Thor is now a woman. That's right, a woman.

I didn't understand why some Spidey fans raged about the Peter Parker
and Doc Ock thing, (yeah I'm aware it was changing history but they had to do
big stuff for the 50th anniversary and avoid repeating stories)
it was weird I think, but interesting. Not annoying. A lot of the stories are non-canon to the original
old ones from the 60s and so on anyway.
But I can understand if people would get annoyed about this.

That's like the Doctor regenerating into a woman. (Not a good idea. A separate non-canon series would be fine though.)

They should have just made her She-Thor or Thorita or whatever because
changing the gender of a much loved and classic character is definitely a bad move.
I'm probably biased though. When I like a male character, I want it to stay male.
When I like a female character, I want it to stay female.
Gender is an important component in a character, you can't just switch them
like bed sheets.

Alternative spin-offs and stuff are fine because they don't erase what's been done
so to speak. (Obviously they're not literally erased but since it would be
in canon, it's affecting the stream of the character's story. You lose interest if your
liked character in its mainstream form becomes something you don't like or don't recognise
or relate to.)

Like in Photoshop/Gimp, you start a new alternate version project,
you do NOT put a new layer (called reverse gender) and jeapordise
the project that others have praised over and over again.
It's risky. And I can't help but think it's a little insulting/disrespectful too.  (Or maybe I'm thinking
of something else.   )

Marvel have probably done worse things so...whatever. Not in my personal top 5 anyway.

What if Gwen Stacy was suddenly a guy?
I wouldn't mind in an alternate universe but when it's put into
the mainstream arc, it can change the way you feel about it.

You get the point, though the above joke is definitely off at a tangent.

I've never liked Thor that much, he's cool and all but not my kinda cool.
I'm more of a Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Deadpool, etc. kinda guy.
I don't care AS MUCH for stuff like Fantastic Four, Thor, etc.
Captain America and some others are somewhere in between.

I could honestly care less about a Female Thor, as i'm not going to go on a rant about it. It should be temporary, like Superior Spider Man (Spider Man/Doc Ock was) was. If it's permanent, well...I mean, c'mon,Thor is supposed to be a guy, right? Thor could prove himself worthy again, right?

It all depends on who they make Thor. It has to be someone good.She has to be a good and worthy Thor. Someone trustworthy to hold the hammer of Mjolnir (or however you spell it). I'm sure we'll learn more about this at Comic-Con, but I need to read the comic first to make my final opinion. 

They'll probably announce the release date for the comic at Comic-Con.

And if they ever made Gwen Stacy a guy...

That person quit a game? What do you mean?

Actually come to think of it, it probably wouldn't be that interesting
if there was a guy Gwen Stacy; it would probably just be a guy called
Dan Stacy who's a high school jock who likes science and pleasantly surprises people
with his intelligence, is a friend of Flash and
doesn't mind Peter much so sticks up for a him when Flash annoys him,
wears rock style wrist bands instead of a hairband (or maybe a sweat band?) and
wears striped shirts all the time and trains to be an officer along side his father.
Wait, that suddenly sounds fairly interesting.

He just said that he didn't want to handle with the suckishness that was SpOck and just stopped playing. I don't know a whole lot of details. Though he said that if they ever added Agent Venom(one of his fav characters), that he'll go back and play as him.

Sorry, I might have had to explain that to someone that didn't know. Well, have you noticed a pattern in Disney things? The guys are the comedy relief and the girls are the big strong heroes of the story. example: 

In Frozen, the two main characters are... who could have guessed! GIRLS! They are the strongest people in the story (in the story, not physically). Now you've got the guy and his reindeer... moose... whatever his friend/pet thing is. He is an important person in the story, BUT he is an idiot. Then you've got exhibit A (More like C or D) OLAF. Granted, Olaf is really cute, but he is a boy AND HE'S ALSO AN IDIOT! 


DO NOT GET ME WRONG! I'm not saying girls aren't strong. I'm just saying the whole "Girls are strong too" thing is taking over the WHOLE INDUSTRY.  It should be a mixing pot of weak guy, weak girls, comedy relief guy, comedy relief girl, stong guy, strong girl. Maybe our entertainment industry would be better if it was this mixing pot I speak of. 

My reasons to be mad at Disney:

1. Shutting Down Toontown 
   
2. Buying the nerd industry (Marvel AND LucasFilms(Star Wars. that's 50% of nerds))
   
3. Taking a Marvel comic and taking ALL Marvel branding on it. This movie is called Big Hero 6 and so is the comic
   
4. Thor becoming a... girl.

Lol yeah it's annoying. I don't get why some girls even care
that they're not strong or perceived strong or whatever.
I'm pretty sure if I was a female, having brain chemistry/structure
and hormonal levels within the ratio range of a 'normal' feminine girl,
I don't think I'd complain about it.

But I'm a guy and I'm happy with
how I developed mostly. I remember as a young child (before I knew what maths even was)
thinking I was 'glad to be a boy' but it puzzled me why I thought this.
I think my brain chemistry was just very well adjusted thus
I DON'T have a gender crisis or anything like that and hence why I'm
kinda hyper-masculine. (Although it may have something to do with a very active right brain hemisphere
perhaps and a critical mind that evaluates the good and bad points.)

It's like a guy complaining 'it's not fair! I can be beautiful too!'
Uh...guys can be handsome/manly looking/whatever.... but beautiful,
although technically isn't just a feminine trait as it derives
from 'beauty' and almost anything can have beauty, but in general
society, beautiful refers to a female and handsome refers to a male.
Beautiful isn't the same as handsome and that's ok.
Because although males and females are equal, they're NOT the same.
One gender shouldn't be envious of the other.
Due to evolution, each gender has its specialised fields.
Male and female are different flavours of the same crisps (or 'potato chips')
....it's not always a good idea to mix the flavours....That's my opinion.

One major reason I don't like female Thor is um...
although the picture you posted is nicely drawn and all...
the design is absolutely horrible.   (In my personal opinion, no offence to the designer.)
It looks like a slim guy wearing a wig, women's clothes and LOTS of lipstick.
Whatever floats your boat, Marvel.   
Doubt it will float most of your readers' boats though.
